It was there that the idea was born: to one day build his own "palace-kasbah," a living tribute to the grandeur of southern Morocco and the legendary hospitality of its people. A Site Chosen with the Heart Like the oasis builders of old, he chose to place his palace on the edge of the palm grove, where kasbahs once flourished and enriched the region. The location was no coincidence: the surrounding ksours tell the millennia-old story of Tafilalet, cradle of the Alaouite dynasty — Morocco's reigning royal family. Here, every stone holds memory. A Kasbah Reinvented as a Palace The architecture, designed as a bridge between past and present, blends the strength of Berber kasbahs with the refined elegance of Moroccan princely palaces. The style draws inspiration from the royal residences of Alaouite sultans, while remaining faithful to the vernacular traditions of the South. Among the noble materials used, rammed earth (pisé) takes center stage. This ancient building technique, typical of the old kasbahs of Tafilalet, has been revived with care and passion. To build with pisé is to build with the soul of the earth. This living, naturally insulating material keeps rooms cool while creating a soft and warm atmosphere. Its use is both a tribute to local craftsmanship, a gesture of environmental respect, and a way to revive traditional architecture in a high-end setting.
